Strategy for the Unwritten Keep
The best Entries run balances what you know with what you are willing to investigate. These tactics help you preserve matches and learn more without turning the game into a guessing contest.
Protect the fifth match
A wrong answer costs a match, but every fourth opened seal restores one. When only one remains, prefer familiar subjects and lower levels until your next recovery. Revealing the route is useful, but spending your final match on it leaves no margin for error.
Use the room before guessing
Each room has subject affinities. Its objects, inhabitants and article can point toward the kind of seal nearby. “Ask the room” removes one wrong option at a reduced lore cost. Wikipedia research costs more lore, but it can turn an unfamiliar subject into something you will remember.
Choose subjects deliberately
Start with your strongest area to build a match reserve, then rotate into weaker subjects while the stakes are low. Difficulty changes both the questions and the lore reward, so a lower-level correct answer is often better than a high-value guess.
Read the route map
The board records visited chambers and opened connections. Retracing a known route costs nothing. At a fork, open a new seal rather than repeatedly crossing explored rooms; when the castle becomes confusing, spend a match only after checking the map you have already drawn.
